Virtual Eye - April 2012

During April, Virtual Eye provided F1 tracking graphics for the UBS Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai and the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Sakhir. Virtual Eye Sailing covered the America's Cup World Series in Naples and continued tracking the 2011-2012 Volvo Ocean Race Leg from Auckland to the Brazilian city of Itajai, and also the in-port racing before Leg 6 to Miami.

Virtual Eye - March 2012

March saw Virtual Eye Golf covering the Open de Andalucia Costa del Sol in Spain, before returning to New Zealand for the NZ PGA Pro-Am Championship. During a dramatic 16th hole on the final day, Don Cheadle scored the first ace of his career in front of a gallery of several hundred. "I didn't even see it, I just saw people jumping up and down and screaming. It was great because my kids were there and my wife was there", Cheadle said afterwards. Although not broadcast on television, the shot was still captured by Virtual Eye.

March also saw Virtual Eye Cricket covering the Commonwealth Bank Series Finals in Australia at the same time as the NZ vs South Africa 3rd ODI and subsequent test series in New Zealand. The 2012 F1 season began with Virtual Eye on the grid for the Melbourne, Australia and Petronas, Malaysia Grand Prix events. The Volvo Ocean Race yachts arrived in Auckland at the end of Leg 4 from Sanya, with Virtual Eye tracking the race on TV and on the web. A short stopover of in-port racing left little time for the crews to recoup before setting off on the next leg to Itajai.
